Before starting on his story assignment, Justin speaks of his troubles with writer's block and shows off some previous work he thinks he might expand upon along with an example of what kind of story he might write. Looking it over, I say it looks to be a good starting point and am interested to see what direction it will take. We talk a bit about how to overcome writer's block and story writing exercises. I tell him to begin his first person story by imagining he is writing a letter, a method they taught us in Columbia's fiction writing classes. Later on, after he expresses struggle with writing vs. speaking, Luke shows Justin how to use voice dictation on the Mac to write his piece. In between writing, Justin leans over to help another student as she works on her project in tinkercad.
